JAPANESE INCENSE HOLDER
JAPANESE INCENSE HOLDER
Our Japanese incense holders are handcrafted using traditional methods of old which have been passed down from generation to generation.
Each holder goes through its own process of being shaped by hand. Fired twice in an Inanagama, a Japanese term meaning "cave kiln". Hand painted using an ancient technique dating back to the 14th Century called Sumi-e (sumie) monochromatic drawing using Indian. The colours used are kuro (black), midori (green), aka (red) and kiiro (yellow).
Our Japanese holders are unique in shape, design and colour as you can see from the image. They are available in kuro (black) bamboo with a light grey background, midori (green) bamboo or tree with a light grey background, aka (red) flower with a light grey or dark grey background and kiiro (yellow) flower with a light grey background.
